Sri Basaveshwara Swamy Composite PU College marked the 2025 Independence Day with a vibrant and inspiring celebration that brought together students, faculty, and the management in a spirit of unity and national pride. The campus, decorated with the tricolour theme, set the perfect stage for a day dedicated to honouring India’s rich history and the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.
The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by the Principal, followed by the national anthem sung with an energy that could probably power a small city. In his address, the Principal spoke about the importance of responsibility, discipline, and commitment among the youth, emphasising that the future of the nation rests firmly in their hands.
Students presented cultural performances that highlighted India’s journey to freedom. Patriotic songs, classical dances, and short skits portraying key moments from the independence movement added depth and meaning to the celebration. A special speech competition on the theme “India at 78: Progress, Challenges, and the Vision Forward” allowed students to reflect on the country’s development and express their ideas for the future.
Teachers also participated through poetry recitations and interactive discussions, reminding students that learning about the nation’s past is not just an academic task but a responsibility.
The program concluded with the distribution of sweets and a vote of thanks. The day served as a reminder that Independence Day is not just a holiday—it is a celebration of identity, freedom, and shared purpose. The college’s successful event reflected its commitment to instilling strong values, patriotism, and leadership qualities among its students.
